I first saw A Fine Frenzy a little over a year ago when they opened for Brandi Carlile. Although they weren't the most exciting live act (Allison stayed mostly at the piano), the music hooked on me immediately. Fast forward now to the 2nd album, Allison apparently got the memo that its time to rev it up a little and have some fun. The large piano has been replaced by … [Read more...] about 11/9/09 A Fine Frenzy

10/23/09 Dead Man’s Bones
Dead Man's Bones is actor Ryan Goslings band. For those that don't know him, he was in "The Notebook", "Half Nelson", and "Lars and the Real Girl". The band was created with his best friend and they have been on their first tour for the last few weeks. He is also one of the few actors that will make me swoooon, cuz god damn it, he's CUTE! I bought their album a few weeks … [Read more...] about 10/23/09 Dead Man’s Bones
10-12-09 Ingrid Michaelson
I had never seen Ingrid live. I always meant to, but she seems to always play on a work night. Last night was a work night as well, but my friend talked me into going. And I'm glad I did!! Ingrid is so FUNNY. I was enjoying the stage banter more than the actual songs (though she does have some damn, good songs!). My fave part was the end of the show. Instead of walking down … [Read more...] about 10-12-09 Ingrid Michaelson
I guess it’s time to get back to work…
I just got back from vacation in Detroit. While there, I got to see brandi in Ann Arbor (cuz I'm a fanatic and plan my life around her!). Not only did I get to see a show, but she did a in-store at Borders as well. Great time! She played "Touching the Ground", "Dreams", and "That Year". The show was being filmed for Borders, so hopefully we get the video released one day. I … [Read more...] about I guess it’s time to get back to work…
Priscilla Ahn 8/9/09
I'll be one of the first people to admit that I'm not fond of her album. Maybe I haven't given it time to grow on me, but "Dream" is the only song I like on it. I do however like her voice, and was curious to see what shes like live. Would you believe that she ended up having Laryngitis?!?! I went to hear her voice, and now I could only hear about 1/2 of what she would … [Read more...] about Priscilla Ahn 8/9/09
Best. Trip. Ever.

My best friend lives there, we met because of this website a few years ago (shes a brandi freak as well). its been a looong time coming for us to see a show together, so we ended up going to two :) We saw shows in northhampton, ma and portland maine. Both shows were a utter blast, and I came home with more photos than I know what to … [Read more...] about Best. Trip. Ever.
Brandi Carlile – 2/6/09 Bellingham, WA
The past few days ended up being a total "crash course" in concert photography. I've made every error a amateur could make (like failing to realize the lens was on manual focus, and getting nothing but out-of-focus pics!). Despite the learning curve and frustrations, its been a total blast. I was lucky enough to get a photo pass for this show.... my first! I was sooooo … [Read more...] about Brandi Carlile – 2/6/09 Bellingham, WA
Meiko – 2/5/09
Meikos album has easily been one of my fave albums of the year. Sure the lyrics can be a little "teenage", but the melodies are excellent. I can't tell you how many times I have danced around singing the "shitty apartment" song. If I think her stuff is addictive now, I can't wait to see what she puts out in a few years. I didn't plan on going to this show. I had seen TWO … [Read more...] about Meiko – 2/5/09
Serena Ryder/Amy Ray/Brandi Carlile 2/4/09
I've been a big fan of Serena Ryder for over a year now, and have been waiting PATIENTLY to see her. I was literally beside myself to see that she was FINALLY coming to Seattle.... Amy Ray was playing the same night, and Brandi Carlile was making a surprise appearance. There's not too many people I would missing seeing Brandi for, Serena is one of the few. This was also the … [Read more...] about Serena Ryder/Amy Ray/Brandi Carlile 2/4/09
Finally made the plunge
I have been interested in Concert Photography since high school. Back in '98, I would hide a p&s cameras in my sock and sneak them into shows. I literally did this for hundreds of shows, and would happy post my results on whatever amateur website I was currently running. Of course all the photos were complete crap compared to todays p&s. I did pretty well for what I had … [Read more...] about Finally made the plunge
