[singlepic id=606 w=250 h=166 float=right] I have seen Grace once before, as an opening act a few years ago. It was quickly obvious that this energetic band was meant to be seen in a packed room full of hardcore fans. I FINALLY got my chance to see them in such a setting, and got a last minute photo pass as well.
This was one tight, visualy interesting, fun band! They are a classic rock/bluesy/jam band that have obviously been playing together for years. Grace was constantly running between the organ and front of the stage during songs, and dancing her ass off/whipping her hair when not singing. Grace is a good looking woman, I think most of the older men near me were there just for her legs alone.
The drummer (and boyfriend?) was my FAV…. he’s like animal from the muppets! (I didn’t learn until later that he usually has a “animal” stuffed animal on his drums). He’s got his long hair, shades, and was hitting those drums HARD with a smile on his face. I was exhausted just watching the guy.

E:Crazy on You – Big White w/Camberin – Paris
Photography Notes: The club was PACKED, I could pretty much forget about trying to move around for a better view. That’s why you don’t see any full band shots.
Normally when I shoot in clubs (especially this one), I can pretty much shoot the whole show. Grace however has a strict photo policy allowing you to shoot the first 3 songs only This applied to audiences members with point and shoot cameras as well (I don’t know how well that was enforced).
The lighting was a lot darker than these photos make it look, and Grace was at the front of the stage only a little during the first 3 songs. I was worried at first that I wouldn’t come back with anything at all! Having only a song or so to shoot her, isn’t much!
4th song in, she strolled to the front of the stage with a acoustic guitar, followed by bright lights. Haha, fuck my luck. Nothing hurts a photographer more than “missed photo opportunities”, while your camera is in your bag.
